How long is the consignment period?

Our consignment period is 120 days from the date of posting on our website, RefindNYC.

What are your condition standards?

We accept items in good to fair condition that are clean, functional, and ready for resale. While normal, gentle wear is acceptable, we’re unable to accept pieces with significant damage, heavy staining, strong odors, missing components, or noticeable structural issues.

What are your shipping and delivery options?

After filling out our Online Consignment Request Form and receiving approval from our consignment team, you can either ship us your items via a prepaid shipping label provided by our team, or you can schedule an in-person appointment to drop-off your items at the Housing Works Bookstore. If you choose to send your items via prepaid shipping, the shipping fee will be deducted from your commission payout.

How and when do I get paid?

Sellers are paid by ACH transfer within 15 business days following the close of the calendar month in which the sale occurred.

What happens to items that are not sold?

If your item has not been sold at the end of the consignment period, you have 15 days to notify us that you would like some or all your products to be returned. After 15 days, the products will be considered donated to Housing Works.

Any items returned to you are subject to return shipping fees at your expense.

If we provide you with a prepaid shipping label, please note that items remain your responsibility until they are received and processed by our team.  While the label is used through our shipping account for your convenience, Housing Works is not responsible for packages that are lost, damaged, or delayed in transit.

We recommend retaining your drop-off receipt and tracking information until your shipment has been marked as delivered. Any claims for packages lost, damaged, or delayed in transit must be filed directly with the shipping carrier.

Housing Works' responsibility for items begins only after they have been received and accepted into our inventory.

How do you authenticate your items?

We use Entrupy services to authenticate our consignment items. Entrupy is a platform that utilizes AI to authenticate luxury goods with 99.86% accuracy.

What if I send an item that does not get approved due to authenticity, condition or brand standards?

Before sending any items, we ask that you complete our Online Consignment Request Form so we can pre-review and approve pieces in advance. Once received, each item is carefully evaluated for authenticity, condition, and brand alignment. If an item does not meet our standards upon receiving it, we will notify you. You may choose to have the item returned to you at your expense, or if we do not receive return instructions within 15 business days, the item will be considered a donation to Housing Works. Please note that any items determined to be counterfeit or inauthentic will be discarded.

How do you price your items?

Our experienced consignment team carefully evaluates each item based on its condition, brand, style, and current market resale value. We use our expertise and sales data to determine a price that is competitive, reflects today’s demand, and maximizes the potential return for both you and our mission. Pricing decisions are made at our discretion to ensure consistency and fairness across the assortment.
