I was perusing a rack of menswear in the posting queue when I got a kick out of how much each piece reminded me of a guy—or guys—I’ve dated. A sweet little trip down memory lane and the realization that, apparently, I might have a type after all.
Daniel’s Boyfriend Essentials is my collection of the pieces that make up that type: utilitarian basics, fun retro striped socks, classic Converse, vintage Members Only jackets, and those perfectly worn-in staples that somehow always look better with age.
And then there’s what I like to call the “you look nice today” sweater—that one sweater that does just enough. A pop of color, a subtle pattern, something cozy that makes you look like you tried without looking like you tried.
It’s casual, practical, a touch of vintage and quietly handsome—the kind of fall and winter wardrobe that feels right at home in New York City.
